A Day To Remember To Stop Depending On Others

It's Merdeka Eve, and I'm planning to stay at home tonight, maybe watch humongous exploding patterns of colourful lights in the dark blue sky at my condo balcony. A balcony which possesses a spectacular view of the entire Shah Alam City Centre. Maybe I'll whip out my camera to capture these fine annual moments, but come to think of it, maybe not, because I just remembered that I borrowed my tripod to Hao Kai, so I can't do fancy manual-set camera tricks. Darn.

It's alright though, I didn't take any photos in the past, and not taking pictures this time won't make any difference, I suppose. But this time I own a darling SLR, not just some cheap, plastic fully-autos, or low-pixeled digital cameras. However, what's important are the images you keep in your mind, not those in your photo albums or in your computer. But that's if you have good memory.

But photos do come in handy when you want to show proof of something. Nobody would believe that you just had lunch with Siti Nurhaliza if you don't show proof that you did, with a photo. But that's all up to you if you want to get your face laughed at.

Now, the question remains, should I take photos of the fireworks tonight, even if have to set my SLR on auto? Well, it is a special occasion... but I don't feel the need to. I'm not that 'unpatriotic' but I figure that a balcony doesn't really allow a good variety of angles, and if I would be at the City Centre itself, then that would be a good excuse and reason to whip out my Nikon Rebel. Happy Birthday Malaysia, and Happy Independence Day everyone.

Yeah post-automatic camera junkies like me would just love to turn that 'auto' dial if uhm... 'artistic' interest' wouldn't have kicked in... or a semester of Photography class...

And what's Jason Lo doing buying YOU a drink?! Bah! :P

Jason Lo bought the whole Xfresh crew who came to say "the music celebration has been postponed" buckets of KFC and canned drinks. So this Shannon girl she declared that she would brag to the whole world that Jason Lo bought her dinner. I also tumpang glamor lah. :)
