First comes marriage, then comes...
So have you heard? Avril Lavigne's engaged! God... when I thought Britney's marriage at 22 seemed a lil early (but granted, quite normal), Avril's getting into the ber-rumahtangga (domestication?) wagon at 19. Unbelievable.
I mean, I don't personally know Avril (*lol*), but she still seems immature at heart, singing about teenage breakups and all. Her sk8ter boi fiancee, is none other than Deryck Whibley, from fellow Canadian band Sum 41.

Maybe she's already satisfied and content, so anyway, congrats to her I guess.

The pics are from the recent 2004 World Music Awards, where Avril was seen smoking and showing off her engagement ring to Anna Nicole Smith and Courtney Love, who looked tired and older from her former glory. Oh yeah, Av was drunk as heck too, finding herself in steel cages with two skimpy dancers before label record managers dragged her out and told her off for making a scene of herself, and of course because she was not the legal age (21 years old) to drink in the States.
For the record, I'm not really an Avril fan and especially NOT a Britney fan.

satisfied and content= marriage? me think not. i don't know avril personally and wouldn't care to either but i do know a lot of women who thinks like that equation or the other way round, which is still the same. it is a self-created illusion, commodifying the system- if i have a car, a house, a husband and 2 kids, i'll get hapiness. or at least that's why society (propagated by the gov, education and media) promise. oh women out there, career is a risk, it's tough, you get harassed by colleagues and bosses and hapiness ain't guaranteed but babies sucking at your nipple will. oh blessed are the souls of handmaiden who has chosen the path of home and glory, i mean home and babies. but me thinks, avril present a complicated (giving her some credits) case of a rebel rebelling against the norm of a rebel. like i think i hate pink just cos it's a girl color and now being accepted as someone who detest pink, i shocked everyone by wearing all pink one day. ok sumtimes i just crap a lot. over and out.

Thanks for your view on that, Mien. Now lemme get some things straight...
"... rebel rebelling against the norm of a rebel" = normalcy? *lol*
"... like i think i hate pink just cos it's a girl color and now being accepted as someone who detest pink, i shocked everyone by wearing all pink one day" = me hate skirts; me wear shirts; me shock people... *thinks* yeah I can relate ;P
