Earthquakes and wobbles
There I was sittin' in my room in front of my Mac, shaking my right foot on auto, when my computer table and everything on it started shaking as well.
I put down my feet to the ground (I double checked), and still saw my stuff shaking from left to right. No sooner than that, I found myself wobbling to the rhythm of everything that was moving.
EARTHQUAKE!!!!!
*insert dramatic scene of books falling, ceilings crashing down, and debris flying everywhere*
But in actual fact, it was only a minor wobble, and I got up to ask my brother who was in his room if he's feeling it as well. He sat still for a moment, and I watched as he and his computer monitor wobbled together like two highly trained synchronized swimmers.
The ground continued to tremor for about two minutes between 1:17am to 1:19am, and we switched on the news to find that Northern Sumatra in Indonesia had been hit by a 8.5 earthquake (according to CNN). Click here for the stats. Tsunamis might have been generated from the force, so please watch out tonight. Malaysia is protected by Indonesia's main island, so thankfully chances of tsunamis hitting us are slim.
My Mom, cousin, and his folks who were sleeping in the master bedroom slept through it like nothing happened even though I tried to wake them up. This is my first quake experience and I was pretty bummed for not having felt the humongous 2004 Boxing Day quake.
UPDATE:
The latest measurement of the quake is at 8.7. I felt a slight aftershock tremor in class today at 2:20pm. It lasted for only a few seconds and went mostly unnoticed. The were no tsunamis generated from the main quake.

being a chat addict helps at times...
A.: You know my reply to that ;)
Boe: It sure does. Being a chat addict has enriched my life and encouraged insomnia in a whole new level!
Must've almost scared some of that white paint back into you!
Jon: I checked. It didn't happen though... But I like my colour, I have a natural tan.
